What Causes Sharp Shooting Pain Below The Ear?

I have had sharp, intermittent shooting pains below my left ear for most of the day. It starts at the soft area below my ear and shoots up to my head above my ear. The pain lasts only seconds, but it literally makes me twitch. It is now starting to make me a little sick to my stomach. If I apply pressure below my ear with my fingers, the pain does subside a little, and only temporarily. Should I take aspirin?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
You may take pain killer to relive the pain below the ear.
However, the cause of pain needs to be found out.
Cardiac pain is known to start in left side of the chest and radiate to jaw, shoulder and upper limb.
Thus, cardiac cause for the pain needs to be ruled out.
I suggest you to consult a cardiologist for cardiac assessment and investigations to rule out any cardiac abnormality.
If cardiac investigations come out to be normal then other causes of pain need to be ruled out.
An ultrasound of the neck is required to look for any other cause of pain.

Thanks and take care
