What Causes Sharp Pain Under Left Rib Cage?

I have sharp quick pain between two ribs on left side under my left tit. it goes away after swalling food water etc.the pain also happens when I burp I can hold pressure at the point of pain and it does not happen. I MAIN HAVE pulled something last 8 months ago while painting over head any ideas?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your symptoms, Sharp pain under left rib cage could be the possible symptom of the gastric problems such as peptic ulcer, acid reflux or GERD (gastric esophageal reflux disease), heart problem such as angina, myocardial infarction etc, also might be due to some muscle or ligament tear.

As per your symptoms that your pain subsides with food and water intake which diverted my diagnose towards acid reflux or peptic ulcer which is commonly leads to quick pain and heart burn like symptom .
You need to be worry , be stress free and calm because stress is the important cause of acid release and gastric problems. Take plenty of water & improve dietary habits and lifestyle. Avoid spicy and oily, consume fiber rich and balanced.

Also consult a medicine specialist doctor. An E.C.G would be helpful to ruleout any heart problem
