What Causes Sharp Pain Near Appendix And Vomiting?

my daughter is having pains on her right side almost where the appendix would be. it started yesterday evening when she was having her karate class. she was doing some running activity for endurance. It must have been so rigid, she started to feel a sharp pain and then throw up. she rested for z few seconds and the pain eased up. she said, there was only a little pain in the morning. tonight, she said she felt the pain again, not a lot. should we take her to the doctor now?

Hi. Thanks for the query. From the history, its possible that your daughter has symptoms of acute appendicitis. The pain usually starts around the umbilicus and then localises to the right lower abdomen. I would suggest to get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen which would not only rule out appendicitis but also identify any other cause for the pain. It she has severe pain with fever and vomiting , better rush to the ER.
