What Causes Sharp Pain In Thumb And Wrist During Movement?
The base of my thumb aches at times, hurts on the back of wrist when I turn hand seems as though something moves over something in my wrist that is not natural and has a sharp pain. This has bothered me about 6 wks to 2 mo. I can tell it is getting gradually worse, not better as I had hoped.

From your description. It seems to be due to tendonitis. For healing it requires rest and avoid movements that causes further pain. As it getting worse, I suggest you to get a MRi done and consult an orthopaedician for proper examination and treatment.
