What Causes Sharp Pain In The Wind Pipe Along With Shortness Of Breath?

Hi Dr. Andrew. I have been getting sharp pain in my trachea. The end of my windpipe. Usually it s every now & then. Lately it s every day. Pain getting worse. Not sure if it stems from neck? But I have neck pain frequently. Todd pain makes it difficult to breath. Shortness of breath. Feels like if i poke a hole there I will have relief to breath easier.

Sounds to be related to acute bronchospasm through some sort of bacterial or viral infection of the lower respiratory tract most likely. Primary care with deep breathing exercises and avoidance of smoke or pollen dust exposure. Consult your primary care as per the need and progress of the symptoms.
