What Causes Sharp Pain In The Lower Back On The Right Side?

Hello. I had unprotected sex on July 19th. My last period began on July 11th and ended on July 13th. on July 23rd I went to the doctor because I had a sharp pain in my right lower back and felt very nauseous. They ended up giving me a urinary test to see if I was pregnant.. turns out I wasn t pregnant. On July 28th, I was experiencing extreme pain where my right ovary is.. it was so bad I couldn t function properly. I went to the emergency and they told me I had a UTI... upon further blood tests, they revealed to me that my hcg hormone levels were at 17 and that I might be pregnant... my partner did not ejaculate in me and I am worried that I might be pregnant. I am going back on august 1st for further testing to see if the hcg hormone went up. Should I be worried? is it normal for hcg levels to be slightly higher and not be pregnant? could it be because of the UTI, or my pituitary gland secreting the hormone ??? I am really nervous and want to know if it is normal. I have given the dates so you can see where I was in my cycle.

The hCG is an hormone that it increase in the pregnancy and is not secreted by the pituitary gland.
A high level of this hormone is very especific for a pregnancy or a tumor (very infrequent), therefore I suggest you get another hCG test due to the level of the previous one is indeterminate for a pregnancy or make you a endovaginal ultrasound to confirm or discard a pregnancy.
About your cycle and the day you had have coitum (day 8 of your cycle) it is unlikely that you have been fertile that day and more unlikely for get pregnant if your partner didn't ejaculated
