I don t know if I ve fractured my right knee. I hit my knee on a wood table last night but the conner of it. I hit it pretty hard to where when I went to the floor and I felt a sting going down my leg. I have a big Knot close to my knee. But when I bend my knee towards me it s a sharp pain or when I lift it to the left side i feel a sharp pain there too. When should I get it checked out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You should consider assessing it for approximately 24 to 36 hours unless the pain and swelling are severe.

During that time you can consider icing the area, resting as much as possible, elevating it and applying a bandage.
Use an anti inflammatory pain killer such as naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam.

If there is no improvement over this time period or significant worsening, then you should be seen.
Imaging would be needed

I hope this helps
