Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have started to experience sharp pain on bottom of right heel when I start to walk after a period of foot elevation, such as first thing in the morning when I get out of bed. The pain goes away for the most part within a few minutes but is very sharp when I first start to walk. There was no trauma, no swelling or bruising. I feel the pain on the bottom of the heel as I push off each step.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Painful/stiff heel in the morning is typical of inflammatory pains.A possible cause is osteoarthritis. In osteoarthritis, joints are commonly sore, stiff, and painful after sleep or after resting them for a while. After getting up, the joints "loosen up" as they move around and are used. Another illness that may give such a presentation is Rheumatoid arthritis or a monoarthritis. I will suggest you see the Doctor for investigation. If need be, the opinion of a Rheumatologist may be sorted. In the meantime, anti-inflammatories like aceclofenac may help. Hope this will help Best regards
