What Causes Sharp Pain In Lower Abdomen Below The Navel?
I have a pain that runs from left to right across my lower abdomen two to three inches below the navel. It started about two months ago, primarily on the left side. I believe that the severity of the pain is dependent on the amount of food in my system. The pain is sharp at times and then dulls out. Looking online hasn t been fruitful. The only thing I find for lower abdomen pain that I can t rule out is abdominal aortic aneurysm, which mentions lower abdominal pain with back or flank pain. I have back pain due to stress and exertion and I let my mind convince me that it is connected with the LA pain. I am 58, 25 pounds heavier than I should be and I smoke like an idiot. Any comment would be much appreciated.

Your symptoms suggest it could be nonspecific colitis or Gastritis. Aortic aneurysm doesn't produce any symptoms initially until its ruptured which is very acute condition and is very fatal. I advice you to take antispasmodic and antacid to few days .if the symptoms doesn't subside then get ultrasound abdomen done to rule out any underlying pathology.
