What Causes Sharp Pain In Abdomen And Urge To Urinate After A Long Run?

I just finished running 7 miles this morning and within 2 hours experienced a sharp pain in my belly button and tenderness an inch below belly button. I thought it would go away but now I find myself unable to stand straight up because of a sharp pain and the urge to pee. What s going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to HCM. There is information lacking on pain. i wanted to know whether the site pain is present and whether it is radiating else where. You also has urinary symptoms. i guess it is kidney stones and pain is felt on the lower back and radiates to the front (groin). Urge to pass but there is difficulty in passing urine indicates something is blocking, most probably stones. Please get one scan to know the size of the stone and the situation. Then you take this report to urologist who will guide you the treatement. If the pain is just at a single paint in front on right lower area, appendicitis should be ruled out. It depends on your history we can come to conclusion. Please clarify the above said points. Take care
