What Causes Sharp Pain And Muscle Spasms In The Arm With Restricted Movement?
I have a lot of pain in my upper right pectoral muscles and tissues between neck and right shoulder. I am having sharp pain and muscle spasms and limited motion with right arm. I have been taking ibuprofen, cyclobenzaprine, ice pack, and icy hot patches and I am still having the symptoms described. I have had problem for 4 days after I strained muscles stapling bulletin board paper to wall using lots of force. What do you recommend?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Pain after a muscle strain is normal and will disappear progressively. At least the cause of your problem is known. All you need is pain medication.Being on a pain medication like ibuprofen and a myorelaxant like cyclobenzaprine is good. However, persistence of pain might suggest a muscle tear or a torn ligament.I will suggest you get the hand examined by the Doctor if the pain persist for a muscle tear or torn ligament. If the case, surgery may be required. In the meantime, i will advise: -Continue with ibuprofen and cyclobenzaprine -Rest or avoid using the hand concerned -Continue with ice pack placement/heat -Mild compression with bandage may help Hope this will help Regards
