What Causes Sharp Pain And Mild Swelling In Left Knee?
My 72 year old husband is having sharp pains on the inside of his left leg near the knee. The area feels hot to the touch and is a little pinkish and slight swollen. He did not fall or twist or strain his knee. He wants to know if a heating pad will help or should we ice it. What can this be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sharp pain and mild swelling in left knee . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like osteoarthritis , rheumatoid arthritis , gout , ankylosing spondylitis or baker's cyst . I would suggest you to loose your weight by doing light exercises like yoga and altering your eating habits , apply warm compresses to knee and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.
