What Causes Sharp Pain Above Thigh And Bruise At Voltaren Injection Site?
Hi. I had a voltaren injection a week ago. I however get a sharp stinging pain, like I am being pricked with a needle, in my top thigh but about 5cm under the bruise and injection site. I am wondering if the tip of the needle broke off or if it s the muscle. Thank you Bernice

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sharp pain above thigh and bruise at Voltaren injection site . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like osteoarthritis , rheumatoid arthritis , gout , ankylosing spondylitis , compressed fracture of vertibrae or sciatica . I would suggest you to loose your weight by doing light exercises like yoga and altering your eating habits , apply warm compresses to thigh and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain. It also seems to be allergic reaction to the drug which she has injected leading to inflammation at the site of injection which is causing pain. In case of allergic reaction antihistamines like allegra or benadryl can be relieving. If condition doesn't get well then consult general practitioner . Doctor may prescribe anti coagulant or may refer you to orthopedic surgeon .
