What Causes Sharp Jaw Pain Upon Chewing Food?

i got sudden jaw pain on my left side when i went to take a bite of my food, and everytime i tried to take a bite, it really doesnt hurt until i try to eat. very painful and it hurts all the way to my ear i got a horrible pain in my left jaw and ear when i tried to take a bite of my food, never had nything like this before, it doesnt hurt otherwise, it wont go away

Thanks for the query..

You symptoms are clearly indicating towards some problem associated with you left jaw joint..
Causes like degenerative changes in the jaw joint, damaged ligament known as articular disc or jaw joint dislocation can be the common causes..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and get a Panoromic x ray done as it will help in evaluating the exact reason for pain in the jaw joint..

As of now take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.
Take a soft diet and avoid excess mouth opening..
Avoid clenching of teeth..
