What Causes Sharp Abdominal Pain Along With Severe Diarrhea?
At what point do I need to be seen regarding diarrhea? I ve had at least 12 episodes of watery diarrhea in less than 24 hours. I m finding it a struggle to eat or drink much because as soon as I do my intestines gurgle and I have another episode of diarrhea. I ve taken two immodium pills - I took those around 7:30pm and haven t taken any since. I ve had sharp pains in my stomach that started on Tuesday lasted through yesterday and was free of them until a little while ago - they aren t as frequent as they had been. I feel nauseous when I m in the middle of an episode but have not thrown up. I m 32 years old - female.

Dear 12 episodes of diarrhea in less than 24 hours are very worrisome.You must be having gastroenteritis.It is good that you are keeping your fluid intake and diet proper.Maintain it.
This is what else you can do.Take imodium capsules again till your episodes of loose motions decrease.Also take flagyl (metronidazole) 800 mg thrice a day for atleast three days.This will surely remove the infection.If the episodes continue with this mush frequency,see your doctor as you may need intravenous treatment.
