Hello,

Cigarette contains nicotine and tobacco. Nicotine on direct application in humans causes:
1) Irritation and burning sensation in the mouth
2) Increased salivation
3) Nausea
4) Abdominal pain
5) Vomiting
6) Increase in pulse rate and blood pressure
7) Increase in level of catecholamines in blood this causes anxiety

These effects can occur after cutaneous and respiratory exposure. You seem to be allergic to nicotine of cigarettes. It's better to avoid smoking cigarettes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
