What Causes Severe Wrist Pain When Moving Thumb?

I cannot move my thumb without severe wrist pain. Also, any attempt to turn the wrist itself, brings the same result. When moving the thumb or wrist, together or separately, the wrist bone moves and makes a crunching/cracking sound. No known injury. Thank you very much.

I would like to get x ray of your wrist to check if there is bone problem or synovitis . Treatment will be according to condition on x ray. For pain relief you can take tablet Brufen, diclofenec ointment and compression bandage.
