What Causes Severe Vaginal Pain In A Woman With CRPS?

I am 53, have CRPS/ RSD. I have noticed that I barely have any pubic hair. I have had difficulty urinating, it barely trickles out. I am not married, have no STD s and have not had sex for over 10 years due to CRPS. I recently noticed that my vagina hurt when I sat down. I can barely put my finger in my vagina and when I did it has a rough texture and hurt. I don t like going to the doctor or ER s, as they don t know what CRPS is and it causes severe pain and anxiety.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Complex regional pain syndrome is associated with various body symptoms of pain of various intensity. The intense vaginal pain is due to tissue sensitivity to pain perception from various reasons mainly involving receptor levels and the rough texture is due to chronic non functioning of vaginal skin in terms of exposure to friction or other repeated ware and tear.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
