What Causes Severe Upper Chest Pain And Breathlessness?

My husband has severe upper chest pain and shortness of breath. we took him to hospital they ran all tests no cardiac problems. They said it was severe Gert, Its been 3 hrs and pain still very bad and so is shortness of breathe. They took chest xray nothing showed.

Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what your husband had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it's good that ECG and chest x-ray were normal but if pain persists, CT PA and Echocardiogram may be needed even then to rule out other possibilities.

It can be due to GERD but the association with breathing is less likely.
