General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Endoscopic ultrasound is usually performed under local anesthesia or short acting general anesthesia. It is the first option during which one gets intense pain post procedure as the instrumentation with biopsy is itself painful procedure and without adequate sedation, one gets intense pain symptoms. Following measures will help you for better recovery:
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water
- Prefer liquids in small quantities at intervals
- Analgesic injection as Dicloenac or patch of Fentanyl

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
