Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Twice my face has swollen up as big as a balloon. At first it was thought that it was because of an allergic reaction to lisinopril. The second time it was maybe my blood pressure being so high. It starts at my neck line and elevates to my lips and cheeks. It is so uncomfortable and scary. It feels so tight that I can pop. What are some reasons of why this may happen?
Your symptoms most probably suggestive of some form of allergic reaction to any substance. For that short-term steroid, the course can be prescribed.
Other causes include cardiac problem, kidney disease, liver disease or hypothyroidism. For that EKG, urea, creatinine, SGPT, SGOT, serum TSH estimation can be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
