What Causes Severe Swelling In The Throat After Taking Metronidazole?
My doctor prescribed metronidazole yesterday. I ve taken three pills so far. My throat is swollen. What I read online says that it s an allergic reaction and to call 911. It seems a bit extreme because I feel fine except for my throat. What do you suggest?

Hi,
It can cause inflammation of tongue and other tissues. So likely you have throat inflammation as well and from dryness which this drug also causes. So don't worry. You need to change this drug and wait for few days to find if problem relieves and if not then we need to investigate it further.
