Sore throat or throat irritation can also be secondary to allergic reaction.. Allergic reaction can be due to a number of common irritants like any foods or medicines, while at times environmental irritants like pollen, animal Sanders, dust and mites can be a cause.. Topical agents like skin cosmetic can also be a cause.. If you have taken Benadryl but there is no.improvement then you can consult an Emergency room and get a steroid shot for reducing symptoms faster.. Do cool compresses over the lips..
