What Causes Severe Sweating?

I have been working out ove 20 years and sweat horribly when doing so. The sweat has an odor that had to wash out of my clothes. I also have noticed that RIGHT AFTER I shower, wheb I dry myself, the towel is dirty as if I never showered. Are these 2 related? What is it from and what can I do?

Hello
I have gone through your query and understood your concern.

If heavy sweating has no underlying medical cause, it's called primary hyperhidrosis.

But excessive sweating can be related to several conditions like Diabetes ,Fever ,Generalized anxiety disorder, Heat exhaustion,Hyperthyroidism,Medication side effects, Obesity,Stress.

I can say that people who are obese, those who regularly eat spicy foods, as well as individuals with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, are more susceptible to having body odor.

Even that people who sweat too much - those with hyperhidrosis - may also be susceptible to body odor, however, often the salt level of their sweat is too high for the bacteria to break down - it depends where the excess sweating is occurring and which type of sweat glands are involved.

At the other side, the kind of sweating(acidic, fatty, stincy sweat) That you described like "dirty" sweat, can indicate high stress in your life.

So,My answer is:Yes,the excessive and dirty sweating can be related.

Anyway i suggest to see your physician because there are some medical conditions(like diabetes , hyperthyroidisms etc) may change how much you sweats, while others can alter how you sweat, subsequently changing the way you smell and for this reason it is necessary to do some blood tests.

-After the test results the doctor can have the right information for the cause and than you can have the right treatement.

Hope this is helpful.
If you have other doubts, feel free and ask.
Regards.
