Last night I woke up with terrible stomach cramps - felt like I was going to throw up. Had several bowel movements after an hour or two but not diarrhea. Feel weak and chills. Didn t sleep but felt better today. Had soup for dinner and got cramps again.

Hi, thanks for using Healthcare Magic.

I understand your concern but I hope you can remain calm.
The emergence of symptoms of abdominal cramps or pain can be caused by various disorders of certain organs in the abdomen. Further examination is necessary to confirm whether it is a mild condition or serious illness. Some possible conditions that cause interference in the stomach, among others:
1. Dyspepsia, the pain usually in the upper middle part of your stomach.
2. Inflammation of the gallbladder or gallstones, the pain usually in the back and stomach.
3. Infection / inflammation of the intestine.

If the symptoms you experience do not get better or worsen, it is advisable to go to your nearest doctor or gastroenterologist. With a direct and thorough examination, either physical examination, or an appropriate investigation with indications (blood, ultrasound (USG) , roentgen, etc.), the exact cause can be known so that treatment can be administered appropriately.

Here are some tips:
1. Keep balancing the diet, eat lots of healthy and nutritious foods.
2. Avoid eating foods that can trigger stomach discomfort such as spicy, sour foods.
3. Drink plenty of water a day 8-10 glasses, limit the consumption of caffeinated and soft drinks.
4. Avoid tobacco smoke and alcoholic beverages.

Take care and keep up the good health.
