I have disproportionately smelly armpits. My hygiene is great but I hardly have to do much and I m really smelly. I m 35, female and this is a relatively new issue - 15 months or so. I m very active and my diet is good. Sweating is fine, I like to work out and sweat, bit this smell is terrible. So bad I have to change often. Is it fungal? Deodorants are not the answer, I want to know what is causing it as it is so new. Thanks in advance.
Apocrine glands in the axillary region produces sweat which is oxidised by bacteria.Foods like garlic and onion increase the smell in your sweat. Increased production of sweat can be counteracted by aluminium hydroxide containing lotions .You must try to reduce your weight as much as possible. Antibacterial soaps can be used over axillary region regularly.Regards.
