What Causes Severe Right-sided Pelvic Pain Along With Flatulence?
i have pelvic pain right before i pass gas and go to the bathroom (#2). the only thing i changed in my diet was taking peto-bis-mel a week ago when i was having trouble going to the bathroom (#2). this is the first time i ve ever had these types of pain and when im in pain its an 8 from a 1-10 scale 10= most pain i ever had. and i know its not cramps because its more of a sharp pain. what do u believe it could be?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of severe pelvic pain before you pass gas, and have to go for passing bowel movement, change was only taking pepto bismol. Pain is severe 8 / 10. My thoughts: There is severe colitis causing gases due to infection and the spasm is causing severe pain as you have explained it to be 8 on a scale of 10. I would advise you the following: Stool test. Antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotic and an anti-spasmodic. CT scan of the abdomen. Colonoscopy if there is no response. Continue the treatment as per the reports of the tests. Maintain the same diet as before.
