What Causes Severe Rib Cage Pain While Breathing Deep?
I had the flu about 5 days ago with severe vomiting on the 4 th day after I started to feel severe pain all around my ribs. When I take a deep breath it hurts severely. I also feel pain in the centre of my spine and also between my rib cage more in the stomach area. Also am cery bloated Is this all caused from the vomiting. I have been taking 400 mg if Ativan but it hasn t been helping much
Here on first impression it seems acute viral stomach flu.Treat it symptomatically with analgesic for pain and omeprazole for acidity.Domperidone can taken for vomitting.Backache and musculoskeletal pain can occur as constitutional symptom in viral infection.
Here if abdominal pain and yellow sclera present then perform your liver function test to rule out hepatitis.
If fever with chills also present with intermittent sweating then do your CBC to rule out malaria.
If fever with joint pain present then do serological test for chickengunia if living in high risk area.
So these differential diagnosis has to be ruled out first , if still diagnosis not clear then further investigation done with USG and RFT ....
Take care.
