My arms have been a red/purple color for a month or 2. It started out of nowhere. When I put my fingers on it, my skin has the white color, but then turns back to red. Also my chest has the same issue but it turns bright red. I had a really bad sunburn last May and I don t think my skin ever fully recovered. My arms were never an issue u til recently. Not sure what to do. My dermatologist told me its vascular but I really don t want to deal with this redness anymore especially with summer coming. Please help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe redness on arm which occurs due to allergic reaction, frcitional heat, clogged pores of sebaceous glands of skin with dead bacteria, sleeplessness. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take antibiotic like azithromycin 500 mg.You should wash face and arm areas with neutrogena oil free. Wash these areas with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your skin once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day. If condition doesn't improve in a month then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation. Doctor may prescribe hydroquinone cream , retinoids or recommend procedures like laser therapy and dermabrasion.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
