Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pelvic Pain, Uterine Discomfort, Excessive Gas And Upset Stomach?
I am having a lot of pelvic or uterine discomfort, increased gas and upset stomach, this has been going on for a month now. A few weeks ago my breast were bery tender as well. I had a period but it was oddly light for me, I am also on birth control. I took a pregnancy test the day after my period ended which was Monday and it was negative. I wonder if I should take another...or if I am maybe ovulating which would confuse me since I am on birth control and not supposed to ovulate. Do you think I should take another test or could it be something completely unrelated..
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, it's better to repeat the pregnancy test as this bleed can be implantation bleed as oral contraceptives are not cent per cent efficacious and failure rates do exist so it's better to get reassurance.
However, the symptoms can also be due to some pelvic infection so if symptoms persist, urinalysis and urine and vaginal swabs cultures may be needed.
Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
