Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain On The Knee When Pressure Is Applied?
Fell on R knee yesterday morning. No issues walking or bending knee, however to the lower R of my knee cap when I put any type of pressure on that area (kneeling, pushing something with that area of my leg) I have a crunchy sensation and horrible pain that stops shortly after pressure is removed. Any ideas?
Hi there falling right over the knee will at least bruise the skin and the covering of the knee cap and this is called posttraumatic prepatellar bursitis.I suggest you refrain from putting pressure on that knee for about 3 weeks and the bursa (covering of the cap)should heal. If this worsens than you need to see a doctor for a good look at your knee.
