What Causes Severe Pain In Upper Back And Shoulder Blades?

Me and my friend do cheer, she threw me in the air and I landed on my back. I probably only went 2 to 3 feet in the air. For about 3 min I couldn t breathe(the wind knocked out of me). A day later my upper back and lower shoulder blades are sore to twist my back side to side and to just move my back in a downward position. Should I go to the doctor? Or just rest?

Hello and welcome.

If there were any fractures you would feel severe pain in even movements, but I cannot rule it out without even looking at you so yes, please do visit a doctor if it is convenient for you.

But in the meantime, rest as much as possible, do not exert the injured region, apply a cold application to the region and you may take mild anti-inflammatory medications.

Best wishes.
