What Causes Severe Pain In Toe?

I have pain in my foot just above the second toe( next to the big toe). It gets worse the longer I am on my feet. Standing up on my toes is impossible on that foot. I don t know of any injury to the foot unless I hit it on the bedpost or something like that.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The pain may be related to any structure in the area such as the bones, muscles or ligaments.

It is more likely bone related however though you may need an x ray to confirm this.
Since there is no history of severe acute injury , you may want to consider the use of anti inflammatory pain medication such as naproxen, cataflam, ibuprofen.

Resting the foot as much as possible along with warm compress may also be beneficial .

I hope this helps
