What Causes Severe Pain In The Upper Right Abdominal Cavity?

I am 68 yo female, I have MS which they say is benign. I was having an MRI last Wed on my brain and neck, with and without contrast. My neuro insists on one every year to compare lesions. Anyway, my neuro doc gave me an RX for 2 Ambien, 1mg each, for when I was to have the MRI s. I seem to have a tremor that does not allow good MRI pics. Last year when I had them done the tech said he did them twice trying to get decent pic but just could not get them! So last year he said I may have to be under anesthesia to get them, so I told this to my neuro doc when she ordered them this year. She said NO I Will Not allow that, a person has a death risk going under anesthesia and I will not order that, but I will give you two Ambien, 1mg each to take before you go in, and a second to take if they are having a problem again this time. I took both, and they did not get pictures this time either. When I was finished on the table, the tech suggested I sit there for a few min, so I did. He went over my time limit, so I knew I needed to get out of there for other patients appointments. He walked me the little room where I was to redress, and he went back into the MRI Lab. I was reaching up to put my clothes on and I fell....BOOM! When I did, there was a chair on the other side of the curtain, and that is what I fell against or into. I landed with my arm on the seat of the chair my side buried into the corner of the chair, and my right hip in a lot of pain! So the tech came running out f the MRI Lab, and my son came running from the receptionists area and helped me up after a few minutes, and put me n a wheelchair, then my son got me into the car and the house. Lucky for me, I believe that chair broke my fall and kept my hip from breaking! It still hurts, but nothing like the pain in my side long about where my liver is and on around to the center of my side, all right above my waist up to the elastic in my bra. And muscle spasms are now going wild when I move those muscles on my ribcage! I have Baclofen for my legs, so I am taking that also...but do not see it doing anything. Talk about pain! I went to the hospital ER on Friday and they said I have contusions, nothing broken, so go home and take ibuprofen! What? By then I was so under the effects of the Ambien I could not walk, not hardly understanding what they even told me. So glad my son was there to get me into the car then the house, and get the papers they gave me when I left with the report of my visit to the ER. Whew, I am tired jut writing this! So my question is: Is there anything else I can do for this pain? It seems to be just a hair better, so does that mean it s getting healed? How long does it usually take? Should I report this fall to the hospital that owns the MRI lab? Do I go to my primary care doc, my neuro, my pulmonary, or who? So sorry this is so long, I just need to know what to do. My PC knows about the fall. The others do not.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
