Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In The Sacroiliac Joint With Nausea?
My left S/I joint is really painful and causing nerve pain and nausea with sudden movement, rolling over in bed, transitioning from sitting to standing, or to lying down. Lifting things or bending down to load the dishwasher are painful. I am also experiencing flushing of the face quite often. Is that a result of the pain perhaps?
It seems you have some trouble with your back while you suddenly start moving after some time in rest.
This is a situation that may develop when an inflammatory process is present. Also, inflammation raises the body temperature and may cause face flashes as well.
First, you can go to your family doctor who will do a check up and orientate you to some other doctor ( orthopedics, rheumatologist, neurologist) if needed.
A back MRI is the gold standard of detecting spine and joint anomalies but we must not underestimate the other causes of back pain that may coexist with sacroiliitis (inflammation of sacroiliac joint) or have caused it.
Mention to your doctor if you have (or had) inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis, spine problems or rheumatology diseases. Mention any infection you have experienced recently (infection of skin, heart, joint or muscle).
Try to remember if you had any back trauma lately and what drugs you take.
Hope this was helpful.
