Thanks for putting your query over here.
As you have already mentioned, you have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and degenerative spinal disease, the pain you described may be because of disc injury ,spinal stenosis, sciatica ,all causing pressure on the lumbar nerves.
You can have anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or naproxen accompanied with warm compresses over the lower back. You also need to visit an orthopaedician. The doctor will do detailed physical examination of yours and recommend some blood investigations and radiological scans if required. That will help in assessment of severity of problem and possibility of complications like involvement of bladder. If required, you may also need to visit physiotherapist. You can follow some simple back muscles strengthening and relaxing exercises.Always keep your lower back supported while sitting in a chair, bend by bending at your knees and not back.Have balanced diet, lots of fruits green leafy, vegetables, nuts and dairy products.Keep your weight within control.Getyourself evaluated for other medical conditions like diabetes mellitus.
Thanks and regards.
