What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Abdomen On The Right Side?

I went to emerg last night with severe pain on my lower right abdomen that started on monday as a stabbing pain near my belly button. They were almost certain i had appendicitis. They did blood work and an ultrasound. The blood work came back normal showing no infection so they gave me an appointment to see a GI specialist and sent me home. However during my ultrasound, they told me i had a retroverted uterus but never considered it in relation to my pain. When i googled it, i have all the symptoms of endometriosis, pain during sex, stabbing pelvic pain and severe pain during menstruation. How do i go about getting testing for endometriosis ?

Hi,

I would advise you to do a CT scan of whole abdomen. You may have stomach infection or inflammation. Depending on scan treatment can be planned.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
