What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Thigh While On Carvedilol?
Have been taking Carvedilol for heart failure for three years now. I ve had severe weakness in my legs for quite awhile. Assumed was due to my back problems. Now I am having a sharp localized pain in my front upper left thigh, when reading about what could be causing this I read Coreg causes leg problems. Can this be my leg problem?

Coreg contains Carvedilol is a beta-blockers, is used to treat heart failure and hypertension (high blood pressure). taking carvedilol can trigger side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, weakness, tiredness, headache, ankle knee and great toe joint pain, arm, back, feet or jaw pain, cough, dry eyes, vision changes, numbness or tingling sensation, decreased sex drive, impotence or difficulty having an orgasm.
what you feel like above is the side effect of carrvedilol. the side effect is more frequent with the higher dosage. if these really disturb your quality of life, please contact your treating doctor.
here some tips for you:
- take carvedilol exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor may change your dose to make sure you get the best results based on your condition. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
- this drug works best if you take it with food.
- take it at the same time every day. Do not skip doses or stop taking Coreg without first talking to your doctor. it may make your condition worse.
- please check your blood pressure routinely.

- Coreg & carvediol both are beta blockers -- this drug is known to cause hyperkalemia & muscle cramps ...so your pain might be due to this.
- At the same time this can happen with your back problem ( ?disc problem ) leading to nurogenic pain.
- Possibility of deep vein thrombosis can not be neglected
* you need to see your doctor to evaluate the problem with physical examination & needful investigations followed by cause specific treatment.
