What Causes Severe Pain In The Head With Nausea?

Experienced sudden, severe pain in the back of the head; as if having been hit with something. As the pain subsided in the back of my head several minutes later, I got a horrible headache on the front/ left side that has not gone away (1.5 hours now) accompanied with nausea, vomiting, and pain in my left eye. Have had migraines for years and, although similar symptoms, definitely brought on much differently. Should I be concerned?
