What Causes Severe Pain In The Head And Muscles?

Hello, my name is Dr. Guy Henry. I am a Licensed Periodontist and Dentist. I have a patient who is a severe nocturnal clencher. Has her own business among other things, never stops you understand. Her worst pain is in the head, muscles of mastication, but there are other bodily symptoms as well. In the short term I was thinking of cyclobenzaprine, 5mg, tid, with the expressed condition that she see her primary for blood studies, thyroid battery, and possible referral to a Psychiatrist. These folks are more suited to manage her meds and treatment, and I would, of course, turn over control when asked. Your thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per the narration and my clinical experience co relation, the current condition is likely due to neurologic issue and a reference to neurologist is far better choice than psychiatrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
