I have had a headache that goes away and comes back multiple times a day for the past two weeks with a throbbing in the back of my head mainly and on the left side. I ve been really stressed and not getting my normal amount of sleep. I m unsure if it is a sinus headache because my sinuses are slightly bothering me any idea?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Sinuses can cause such head aches. Rule out other main cause which gives occipital head ache - high blood pressure also. Check your Blood pressure to rule out this. If you sweat excess also you can get such head ache by loosing electrolytes. Taking fluids and electrolytes will b helpful in that case. If these clear then you can approach an ENT specialist to get an ENT examination to rule out sinusitis. If you have sinus congestion then you can apply nasal decongestant sprays like xylometazoline (otrivin) also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
