What Causes Severe Pain In The Abdomen?

I started having some sharp abdominal pain yesterday. It started in the afternoon, a while after eating lunch (sandwiches, but the meat may have been older than I thought). It wasn t severe pain and it went away after an hour or two (after a bowel movement). I ate supper last night and a short time later, the pain came back, but it was very severe and I was doubled over for the rest of the evening. I had a couple of bowel movements, but they did not seem to help the pain. When I woke up this morning, the pain was almost completely gone, but then I had a few sips of coffee and it came right back, although not as severe as last night. I thought maybe it was food poisoning from the sandwich meat yesterday, but it has gone away and then comes back every time I eat or drink.

It looks like gastritis pain. The pain usually occurs immediately on eating due to increased gastric secretion for digestion when we eat. this increased acid caused irritation of stomach and pain.
I would recommend stopping foods and beverages that increase acid in stomach like coffee, smoking, alcohol, meat for a few days.
Also take some over the counter acid lowering drugs like Ranitidine.
Also try taking some antacid during the pain like Gelusil or Sucralfate is better option for severe pain.
If despite above measures the pain is not relieved then I suggest a visit to a doctor.

Hope this answers your question, thank you.
