What Causes Severe Pain In The Abdomen On The Right Side?

What could cause a severe cramp like pain in the lower right abdomen? I was sitting on the toilet and immediately had to stand up and rub the pain from my lower right side abdomen. The pain passed but returned a second time when I went to sit on my couch and again have to stand up and rub the heck out of the same area. The pain was so severe I considered calling an ambulance, then it started to pass. Is this just a weird cramp?

Hi,

There are two possibilities for pain in the lower right abdomen either due to kidney disorder or from appendicitis.

Tell me, if there is more pain upon urination, does pain radiates to leg, thigh and back and are you taking any other medicine.

Your inputs will help to address it properly. You can also visit emergency room directly and it will be addressed accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
