What Causes Severe Pain In Neck Along With Headaches And Nausea?

My daughter is a college student, also works in a middle school. Starting yesterday her neck started hurting. Today severe pain, with a bad headache. She has had a cold but was thinking that was better. This morning she was nauseous, even vomited a little. Temperature of 98.8. Urgent care told her accute neck pain and tension headache, but not sure I believe that diagnosis. Any suggestions?

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter has severe pain in neck along with headaches and nausea . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondilysis, stress and anxiety or viral infection . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor will take history and order blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe anti viral like acyclovir along with anti inflammatory and analgesic . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon if problem will be related with cervical spondolysis . For now apply warm compresses to neck and drink plenty of water .
