Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that while trying to unplug the ears he has blown air by pincingbthe nostrils and the pressure if in excess might have ruptured the eardrum leading to pain in ear as well as swelling in face and neck..
There can also be severe infection and inflammation that is leading to swelling..
As of now he can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen and if there is very severe pain TRAMADOL can be done..
You should also immediately consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopic,x Ray etc can help in diagnosis..
He can be advised Antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and Oral and nasal decongestant..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
