What Causes Severe Pain In Back And Chest Post Gall Bladder Removal?

I had my gall bladder out three weeks ago after two extremely painful attacks. I am currently a patient again as I have terrible back pains and some chest pains. I ve been told I have some fluid in my abdomen and this is why I am in such pain, but they are doing another sonogram tomorrow to see if the fluid is lessening. The only reason I can write is that they have given me lots of pain medication in an Iv. There has been no change in48 hours. What could it be?

Hi welcome to HCM....

Your provisional diagnosis : post cholecystectomy syndrome ....

Here after operation there can be bile leakage from stump , leading spread of bile over peritoneum or stomach leading more pain and you can have reffered chest pain ...

USG will clear your picture more tomorrow ..
Here yes chances of infection also can be there after post cholecystectomy ...
So for that CBC , CRP also done along with USG ...
If needed antibiotic given ....

Take care ....
