Hello,
As per history, this is more of a
trapezius muscle spasm. As the insertion of the muscle is at the spine of the scapula. So there is inflammation at the insertion of the trapezius muscle.
I will advice you to use a neck collar. The reason to guide this is, due to the trapezius muscle spasm.
There might change in the normal anatomical curvature of the
cervical spine which may tend to change to the position of the
intervertebral disc and might lead to compression over the
nerve root which might lead to pain the biceps or the upper limb.
Using a
cervical collar and taking hot water fermentation will help reduce the swelling. Use it for a week or so. Post which you can start exercising for regaining the strength in the trapezius muscle and also the upper limb.
In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most patients with trapezius have similar complaints and they respond well to conservative management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
