What Causes Severe Pain And Stinging Sensation In Armpit?

Hello Doctor, I ve been reading a few other posts about what my condition might be and I haven t found anything on how it happened in the first place. about a week ago a vein in my armpit began becoming painful to the touch, but I didn t think much of it. Now the vein can be easily felt and stings when trying to raise my arm. I thought maybe it was the new deodorant I began trying because that s about the time it started. I don t know if that could be a cause, but I have been avoiding putting deodorant on while this is an issue. there is no visible bump or indication of swelling, but you can feel it if you were to touch it. What can I do Doctor?

Hello,

You used a deodorant after which you are experiencing stinging pain in the armpit. It can be due to allergic reaction on use of the deodorant. Stop using it. Medical conditions that may cause swelling or pain in the armpits are cysts, infection, irritation due to shaving or antiperspirant use. You can take anti inflammatory medicines like Combiflam, one SOS when required for relieve.

Cold compress will help to reduce muscle soreness. To reduce lymph node swelling you can apply warm compress. However, such symptoms may be indicative of serious diseases like lipoma, skin cyst, cancer, axillary lymph-adenopathy, etc. You are suggested to clinically get examined & get all required investigations done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort. You will be treated accordingly with medicine / surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
