What Causes Severe Pain And Gastritis Despite Taking Antacid?

Hi, I was diagnosed with gastritis in the ER yesterday with severe pain .tonight I took max. Strength antacid & Anti-gas liquid for the first couple of daysas suggested till the 14 day treatment kicks in. That was suggested for the pain,however after I took it it started again. Should I not take it for the discomfort?

If you have gastritis even after taking the antacids than you have to take one proton pump inhibitor along with this like cap pantop or cap rabson empty stomach every 8-12 hours with tab meftal-spaz or tab cyclopam s.o.s if pain is there. Avoid spicy and oily food as much as you can.
