What Causes Severe Muscle Cramps In The Legs?

I have been having leg muscle cramps. I m 58 years old and it started in my calves and has now moved to my thighs. it feels almost like restless leg syndrome but it s more consistent and doesn t happen just at night. I m maybe 20 pounds overweight but not obese.

You have problem of severe muscle cramps problems that may be because of some mineral deficincey like calcium , magnesium And potassium in blood.

Over use of muscle also cause cramps.
Vitamine deficincey may cause weakness and cramps in muscle.
Dehydration cause muscles cramps.

Peripheral artery disease may ruled out.
Thyroid or diabetes may cause this type of symptoms.
Some medicine cause muscles cramps also.
Consent a physician for further diagnosis.
Proper physical examination and history give exact idea.

Muscle streching and massage is helpful.
Avoid alcohol drinking and caffeine.
Take warm bath to relax a muscle.
If needed than multivitamins can taken.
